Screenium can help you record full-screen, or in a single window or prescribed area, and the app captures anything and everything - including streaming video, microphone audio commentary, picture-in-picture of your iSight or other camera, and a virtually unlimited number of video sources. The best improvement in the updated Screenium is an integrated, multitrack video and audio editor, so you don't need to rely on a separate editor or iMovie to clean up and organize your screencasts. Screenium also makes it easy to export your finished product (in any format supported by QuickTime), and Screenium add lots of cool extras, like options that let viewers know what's happening with your mouse clicks while you're narrating the onscreen action. With its easy interface and copious capabilities, Screenium is still one of the best values out there for screencasting software. Make live movies of your Mac's screen, capture your actions in application programs, including mouse pointer, selections and movements - in real-time! Screenium even grabs live content streamed over the Internet.
You can actually capture movie-in-movie: Screenium records your screen just like it is - including ongoing video playback in multiple windows. With on-the-fly voice recordings, easily describe what you are doing on-screen. Simply use the built-in microphone or any external audio input device connected to your Mac. Screenium supports an unlimited number of audio sources, simultaneously, and in pristine sound quality. Capture your built-in iSight as Picture-in-Picture movie, with you commenting the scenes.
Use any QuickTime-compatible webcam tethered to your Mac too! Screenium 1.1 improves support for external cameras as well as it features fully redesigned and enhanced 'Mouse' function: configure mouse action visualization, including the display of mouse button names.
Reply by MarkSHawks on March 1, 2012 Go into the audio settings, it will download a helper application called soundflower for you then it will pick up all system sounds. I find it easier on the mac to install a Safari plugin (Google is your friend) that downloads the video direct from youtube, much faster and better than any screen capture. In Safari on Mac, you can also go to Window - Activity, find the video file in the list (usually the only thing in MB instead of KB size wise), select it and copy (command c), then go to Window - Downloads and select paste (command v). The video will now download.
Record exactly what you see on the screen and turn it into a screencast in next to no time. Screenium 3 lets you record at 60 frames per second, offering optimum performance for your tutorials, gameplay recordings or any other screen content you wish to record. If you work with an ultra-high resolution 4K or 5K display or a Retina Mac, Screenium 3 puts you on the safe side as it creates the smoothest video quality possible for these types of devices. But Screenium 3 offers much more than ultra-smooth video capture. Take advantage of numerous convenient tools that will help you create your perfect screencast. For example, you can embed iSight-footage as a Picture-in-Picture clip, add audio comments or hide your desktop or desktop symbols during recording.
Screenium also records the mouse pointer as a separate track so you can visualize mouse clicks or edit them at a later point without any hassle. Screenium’s comfortable and powerful video editor provides you with all the tools you need to cut your footage, embed texts or add effects, transitions, or animations. Accentuate mouse clicks, add geometric shapes or hide screen sections that contain personal information. Of course you can also edit audio tracks and add filters to them. Using text synthesis, you can even add multilingual audio comments or auto-generated voice tracks.
